Avocado Green Mattress | Latex Coil Hybrid: $959-$2099
If you prioritize exceptional quality, natural construction, and commitment to excellence, the Avocado Green Mattress is one of your best options. In 2015, the founders of Avocado’s had the aim to create an affordable organic, non-toxic mattress. Avocado, by construction is a hybrid, because along with 100% natural latex, it also has just under 1500 pocketed support coils which provides a solid support and the familiarity of a traditional spring mattress. Joma New Zealand Wool is another major feature with Avocado, and it’s main benefits include acting as a natural fire barrier, temperature control, and it retains freshness.. If you’re one who enjoys a natural mattress with some bounce, and breathability, Avocado is an excellent option! (Avocado also offers a 2 inch Optional Pillow-Top which provides a softer surface feel
Standard(Without Optional Pillow-Top) (11 Inches)
Firmness- The standard Avocado Mattress (without Optional Pillow-Top) is rated as a 8.5/10 on the firmness scale with 10 being the firmest. The Optional Pillow-Top brings the firmness down to a 7.5/10. My sleep preference is on the firmer side, and my sleep style is back and side. For me personally, the Avocado with the Optional Pillow-Top was the winner because it provided a softer top layer which aided my side sleeping tendencies. In either version, this is not a mattress you sink into, and you really feel that bounce right as you jump on the Avocado. If you are a stomach sleeper, the standard Avocado will be perfect due to its firm top.
Motion Transfer- Naturally with any mattress that has springs, Motion will be noticeable compared to an all foam mattress. However, with the Avocado, due to the Zoned Support Coils, the motion is far less noticeable than many other Hybrids, though it will still be present.
Edge Support- This mattress has an above average Edge support which was very pleasing. It is no surprise however due the commitment to perfection with this mattress. The 3 wire gauges, and Zones which contain the Fabric Encased Innerspring provide great balance and alignment. The edges are not so firm that you won’t slightly sink in, but are certainly firm enough to help reduce roll-off situations.
Cooling- The Avocado Green Mattress is built to sleep cool, starting off with the coil system. The coils provide a natural airflow which allows the mattress to breathe. Dunlop Latex is constructed to sleep cooler than foam.. The Avocado is not a dense mattress, which allows it to wick away moisture and keep the air flowing.
Off Gassing- With the 100% Joma New Zealand Wool. the Avocado, the Avocado Mattress retains a freshness and the Off Gassing was not present at all. Though when you do open the mattress. I would strongly advise you to allow at least 10-12 hours of letting the mattress breathe and come to full shape once you open it.
How many years will the Avocado Green Mattress last me?
In terms of years, the Avocado Green Mattress will give you 12-14 years. The Support Coils are built for durability, and the firm nature of Dunlop Latex tends to last longer than Foam, or even Talalay Latex. As we always recommend, rotate your mattress 180 degrees every 6 months to help extend the longevity and possibly hit that 14 year mark.
Warranty- 25 Year Limited Warranty. (10 Years Full Coverage) (Year 11-25 Limited Coverage)
Trial Period- 100 Night Trial. If you don’t like it, you get a full refund!

The Avocado Green Mattress is one of the top rated Natural Mattresses on the marketplace, and this comes as no surprise to me. With my first jump on the bed, I was taken back to the traditional mattress feel which seems to be a rarity in the marketplace in this day and age. This mattress is certainly on the firm end of the spectrum, so I would highly recommend it to back and stomach sleepers, but if you’re a side sleeper like me who still prefers a firmer mattress I would definitely go with the Pillow-Top Option because it provides a softer cushion but still won’t sink or give. Motion Transfer is slightly noticeable, but for me it was bearable, and not exaggerated. The mattress also naturally sleeps very cool and has a refreshing quality. Avocado is a mattress I would definitely recommend if you are in the market for an all natural, affordable firm mattress.
